About
A recent graduate of the MA program in Political Studies from Queen's University, I'm interested in food writing and food history, with particular focus on the history and social evolution of bread, specifically the historical evolution of bread as 'peasant' food (or food of the masses) to 'peasant bread' as the food and craft of the culinary elite (i.e. the growing trend and fascination with artisanal bread and rustic bread). I'm also interested in developing narratives through food events, food consumption and food creation, and the growing attraction to, and perhaps myth of, rural pastoralism.
Most recently, I've taken a position as an Instructional Technology Specialist with the University of Guelph. Beyond food writing, my interests therefore also include educational technology, e-learning, instructional design, learning strategies and pedagogies.
