About
My research is concerned with explaining patterns of risky behavior in various contexts, and comprises three main lines. First, I use laboratory experiments to examine how social and environmental cues interact with individual differences in personality to influence risk-taking. Second, I study the etiology and determinants of gambling and problem gambling behavior. Third, I use archival data to examine and explain population-level variation in crime and other risky behaviors over time and space.
